POP (ABS) COATING TREATMENT

POP coating, which comes from the first letters of the English expression "Plating on Plastic", is the process of electrolytic metal coating on plastic. It is also called ABS coating due to the use of the most common Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) type plastics in POP coating.

POP Coating (ABS Coating) consists of cleaning, etching, neutralization, activation, acceleration and electroless coating steps.

POP Coating (ABS Coating) wastewater contains heavy metals such as chromium (Cr+3, Cr+6) and nickel (Ni). In addition, the waters are highly acidic. Heavy metals are very toxic parameters for the environment. It is essential to treat POP Coating (ABS Coating) wastewater before it is released to the receiving environment.

As in every branch of the metal sector, GESU Purification offers turnkey plants for POP Coating (ABS Coating) wastewater. Different wastewater treatment methods are recommended for different needs, especially chemical treatment (coagulation, flocculation, precipitation).
