ALKALINE ZINC TREATMENT

While coatings with high corrosion resistance are obtained in the alkaline zinc process, which is an unalloyed zinc coating procedure, wastewater is generated in processes such as degreasing, rinsing, and passivation. Alkaline zinc wastewater contains pollutants such as heavy metals (zinc etc.), oil-grease, COD.

The alkali zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating process consists of surface preparation, electroplating and passivation steps. Each step is followed by rinsing baths.

Alkaline zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating wastewaters mainly originate from rinsing waters. However, the baths that are emptied in weekly and monthly periods generate more concentrated wastewater. These points should be considered in the design of alkaline zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating wastewater treatment plant.

In alkaline zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating wastewater, the parameters such as heavy metal, AKM, COD, pH need to be treated in order to comply with the discharge limits.

GESU Treatment Ltd. Şti., with its quarter-century experience in the metal sector, offers turnkey wastewater treatment plants for alkaline zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating wastewater. Wastewater treatment is applied for alkaline zinc and alkali-zinc alloy coating wastewater with processes such as chemical treatment (Coagulation - Neutralization - Flocculation - Precipitation), Chemical Additive Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), Filtration.
